The newly constructed Modern Galle Bus stand was Open by His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksa today (July 11th 2011). The Ministry of Economic Development constructed this bus stand at a cost of Rs. 405 millon.

This two storied bus stand is the longest bus stand in Sri Lanka and its length is 161 meters with a width of 10 meters. This modern bus stand has 1255 sq.ft in the ground floor. Southern Provincial Road Passenger Transport Authority Establish the Information Center & Displaying Time Table & Fares Using large three LCD TV screen for the convenience of passengers.
